I mean why McGill has a MDCM and others universities have a MD ?

Are you really better in surgery with a MDCM instead of a MD ?

 

No there's no difference whatsoever. They're totally equivalent diplomas (like DMD = DDS).

There isn't a bigger emphasis on surgery at McGill.

The only reason McGill calls it MDCM, is because of tradition. It was called like that when the school first opened, and then it never changed, when the other schools did change their appelation.
