Underserved status

Recommended Posts

Well, it could but I doubt it is a serious issue at all. There is so much stuff to look at with a single application and it is very unlikely that you are going to get screened out solely on reporting a low childhood income (if I was on the Adcom, I would only read the essay and the sketch). You can easily cover it at interviews and such if it comes up. However, I am not sure if you should use it to claim underserved status.

Does reporting a low childhood family income level affect the how adcoms make decisions? i.e. for them, would it imply inability to afford med school?

Thanks.
