christinawang1990216
Anyone knows the starting date of activities? Is it university or like ontario schools?
thatonekid
Last year, if I'm not mistaken, they wanted the month and year. Did they change it this year?
FacelessMage
They want the day (like 09/13/09 for example). I'm pretty sure that if you don't know the exact day you could estimate it a bit.

FacelessMage
I was under the impression that it was anything you did after the age of 16.
thatonekid
I was under the impression that it was anything you did after the age of 16.I meant for things that you continue on with during university that you started before you entered university. Sorry, I should have been more clear!
LostLamb
I had things that I've done since I was 12 and continued to this day. That date required some serious estimation! The after 16 rule is an OMSAS one, not a pan-Canadian med school one. But...it is a good rule of thumb.
astrogirl
I wouldn't put stuff that you only did before university (like you were the class president in grade 7 or something), but if you've been doing something for a long time and you're still doing it, then I'd put the actual start date even if it was before you started university. mm88
I'd say that if some activity had some significant impact in your life and decision to pursue medicine, it is worth writing down. I wrote about this nerdy science/biotech camp I did between Gr 11 and 12 and how it got me interested in medical research and such.

My activities are not huge in number, but each is siginificant and long-term. So filling all 10 might mean adding in fillerss
tb123
It also depends on your situation. If you're in 3rd year of undergrad, things you did in Grade 12 are still very recent, and are pretty applicable. If you're a grad student, being a captain on a HS sports team isn't the same as if it was 2 years ago.
