McMarauder
I'm just curious as to what you all do to relax or clear your minds. I've experimented with guided meditation, and have found it to be very effective. Most of the tracks I find are on youtube. Aside from that, what non-pharmacological techniques do you use to relax? kylamonkey
Long-distance running. I bet a lot of the other members here also use exercise.
Wayward son
I'm just curious as to what you all do to relax I don't really find that I have a great need to relax, but I guess I read, watch the Daily Show, hang out with friends. Unlike KM, I don't find exercise relaxing...I wish I did...but I find it a chore - the equivalent of taking the garbage out an extremely long driveway. or clear your minds. I have no interest in clearing my mind. I have tried to meditate in the past. For myself, I found it waste of my time...and usually just led to me thinking about all the things I needed to do. At the same time I do know people who seem to benefit from things like meditation.

psychoswim
I exercise as well My #1 for relaxing my mind is swimming which I unfortunately can't do very much right now. So instead I lift weights 3x week and do other cardio work if possible once a day. For me, no exercise = I feel crappy.

Jochi1543
I can't do yoga or meditate in the traditional sense of the word - I find both activities incredibly irritating. I prefer high-intensity exercise with a lot of variety, e.g. crossfit. If I go running, I'm just left alone with my thoughts of how much running SUCKS. frozenarbitor
Studying for exams helps me relax because it makes me feel more prepared and less worried about doing bad on them.

Crossfit <3 If I'm too tired to think about anything at the end of a work out, I'm generally also too tired to be stressing out about stuff. Intense workouts really do the trick. So does a drink or two
