Masters Degree

Well a Master's degree will help you out if you have a weaker GPA, since schools will also look at your grad school marks. Also, it can help secure some more publications. However, it is 2 years, and for some people, 2 years of clinical work can be far better than a master's degree.

I am near completing my 2nd year in masters -- it is an arduous journey (self-direction) but it allows you to grow so much in terms of self-development and learning new research/analytical skills.

Don't just do it for marks -- you could do an unclassified year or work or travel etc. Do it if there is something that really interests you. Otherwise you will not like it. It is very different from undergrad.

Also, some schools (like McMaster and most Ontario schools) will NOT consider your grad marks until your degree is CONFERRED. ie. they won't look at it unless you apply for med the year after you graduate with a masters.

good luck.
