anesthesia residency in states, back to canada to practice?

hi! i was wondering, since anesthesia in the states is a 4 year program, if i want to come back to canada to practice, will there be any extra requirements? thanks!

I have heard conflicting stories about this. It used to be that you can't go back and forth between the two countries. However, I talked to one of the people at UBC who apparently deals with the boards reciprocity thing and he said that as of 2004, you are eligible for the boards in the other country if you did your residency in one. I have not had this confirmed as I am no longer doing anesthesia. If you are interested, you can talk to Dr. Parsons at UBC.
