Lost&Found
I was wondering if it looks bad if you're involved with activities/research that are in a different scientific field than your major. For instance, if you're majoring in Neuroscience but are involved with research/ECs in genetics, will that have a negative impact on your application? Thanks

technicity
As an electronics engineering major with several healthcare- and humanitarian aid/international law-related ECs, I can confirm that it does not matter.

Thanks it really does not matter, if anything it helps to show you are well rounded - ie its good to be involved in a broad range of ECs
thatonekid
Nope. My ECs had nothing to do with what I studied in undergrad. It doesn't matter at all.
Lost&Found
Thank you all for your responses! I know it was a somewhat silly question, but I suppose my reasoning was that med schools would wonder why you've majored in one thing if you're interested in participating in activities that focus on other disciplines. PhoenixFlare500
They realize that you can't major in everything you'd be interested in so you do have the opportunity to explore those interests in other ways. You'll be ok.
