meowmeowwoof
I just finished second year and am writing the MCAT this September 1. The thing is I'm not planning on applying until September 2013. I wanted to take it this year as a back up in case I don't do well the first time, I can still take it in summer 2013. Problem! In 2013 the MCAT will no longer have the writing section. Should I write it next year instead or stick to my plan of writing it a second time? Also, does it look really bad to medical schools if I write it a second time??
ecobeco
I'm in the same boat as you decided to write it anyway this year, you can't really go wrong as most schools will look at your most recent score anyway and the writing sample might just become a non-factor for applicants as of next year
nkn2012
wait, is that the only change to it? do other sections stay the same????
ecobeco
Yes there will be an optional section containing samples of the new MCAT material starting 2015 but in year 2013 and 2014, no writing sample + all sections stay the same!
