Question about Co-op

Recommended Posts

"For students formally enrolled in a recognized Co-*op program, we consider a co-op term (where the other term does not involve coursework) to be equivalent to a full year. We would then require a minimum of 12 graded credits during that term in order for it to be considered a full-*time year."

Can someone please clarify this statement from the manual for me? Which other term is it talking about when it says "the other term does not involve coursework" and what term is it talking about when it says "a minimum of 12 graded credits during that term". I thought it was talking about the previously mentioned term not involving coursework, but that doesn't make any sense and having done 12 graded credits is the co-op term doesn't make sense either...
