GPA Calculation Question for UofT and McMaster

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Since the UofT website discusses yearly marks versus McMaster which discusses term marks, I was hoping someone might be able to help me figure out how my GPA would be calculated, since I did not end up taking 5 courses per semester each time, and the timeline of my courses is slightly odd.

Here is a layout of how many courses I took per semester:

Fall 2013: Upgrading

4 half credit courses

Summer 2013: Upgrading

1 half credit course

Fall 2012: Masters Courses

1 half credit courses

Fall 2011: Masters Courses

2 half credit courses

1 0.25 credit course

Winter 2010: 5th Year

4 half credit courses

Fall 2009: 5th Year

4 half credit courses

Winter 2009: 4th Year

4 half credit courses

Fall 2008: 4th Year

4 half credit courses

Summer 2008:

1 half credit course

Winter 2008:3rd Year

4 half credit courses

Fall 2007:3rd Year

5 half credit courses

Summer 2007:

2 half credit courses

Winter 2007: 2nd Year

5 half credit courses

Fall 2006: 2nd Year

5 half credit courses

Winter 2006: 1st Year

5 half credit courses

Fall 2005: 1st Year

5 half credit courses

Thanks!

I believe the average is calculated using the last 20 half courses and this will be the gpa they use for admission. In your case they would take the grades from:

Fall 2013: Upgrading

4 half credit courses

Summer 2013: Upgrading

1 half credit course

Winter 2010: 5th Year

4 half credit courses

Fall 2009: 5th Year

4 half credit courses

Winter 2009: 4th Year

4 half credit courses

and then the average for these course (because up you would need 3 more courses and they do not choose specific courses, they just take an average)

Fall 2008: 4th Year

4 half credit courses

Hope this helps
