mavrik13
What is the income of a doctor working 70:30 (clinical:academic) compared to one working 100% clinical. Is there a big difference? Depends. Sometimes lower (e.g. if you're starting out, not well known in the research field, not bringing in a lot of grant money/productive research/important administrative roles... they don't/won't value your time as an academic the same as your value doing clinical work). Sometimes it can be higher, for the same reasons mentioned before. Bottom line, from my understanding, is that it varies quite a bit, and is more of a discussion when you're interviewing for jobs.
