Competitive residency GPA

Recommended Posts

I know... but it is still part of the "package"....

Do you mean UG GPA? Med school is basically pass/fail everywhere but Quebec.

I would be really surprised if that data was avaliable.

Besides UG GPA is a very small component of the application, if its even requested. Plus you can't change it anyway once in med school so why sweat it. Worry about the big three (work ethic, like-ability and knowledge) which will account for 95% of who gets chosen.

No I mean GPA in medicine. I am in a Quebec school so I am curious how my GPA affects me for residency!

It doesn't matter that much. It helps if you have over 3.5, but there are much much more important aspects of your app than GPA for residency, such as the clothes you're wearing during the interview (make sure you're sporting goodyear welted beauties if you're a guy).
