Rejected for NSERC (any alternative awards)?

Hey all,

 

I was just rejected for NSERC at Ottawa U with a 3.9+ GPA as a second-year (I'm not a student from Ottawa U). Are there any alternative smaller scholarships/awards that I can apply to at this point or should I start looking at other opportunities? As much as I would love to volunteer at the lab over the summer, I'm not sure if I'm able to do so financially. (If I have no other choice obviously I would rather do that than bum around the house).

 

I wish I looked into other opportunities earlier but my supervisor was almost certain that I would get the NSERC, so I'm kind of kicking myself right now. :S

just curious, what was ur uottawa gpa. out of 10?

You should get in touch with the university's research/awards office plus the department... they might have some leads, though it is somewhat late. Good luck.
