00Jay
Hi all, I am wondering if any Canadians currently studying in Australia (or have since graduated) can speak a little bit about how they were able to cover the costs of attending school there and if they are still in (or expect to be in) debt after graduation and if so, for how many years? Do you start earning money immediately after your 4 year (5 year) degree? How much? How fast does it increase? Is it enough to pay off your loans How long does it take until you are a registered specialist? Finally, what are the scholarship options like? Answers to any or all of these questions would be greatly appreciated

Answers to any or all of these questions would be greatly appreciated It's pretty much the same as going to the US in terms of debt although living cost are definitely higher in Australia. Usually it's a LOC from a Canadian bank with a co-signer Do you start earning money immediately after your 4 year (5 year) degree? from what i've heard you need to match into a residency into canada once you study in australia. Not sure how likely that will be because you'll be considered an IMG How much? How fast does it increase? Is it enough to pay off your loans While you are in residency you don't get paid much but once you are finished it should go up. You will probably be able to start paying off your loans once you're done but this is considering the best possible case that you do match the first year you are finished in australia. How long does it take until you are a registered specialist? speciality training is different I have no idea Finally, what are the scholarship options like? I don't believe there are any scholarship options because you are an international student. There could be some academic ones once you are in but I highly doubt they will be close to what you are paying for tuition. Hope this helps
