Torontodoc2b
Hi. I'm a new member. Thanks to all of you for maintaining such an amazing resource. I'm a third year at UofT. Starting to think about electives for next year. I'm pretty certain I want psychiatry. I'm very interested in the UBC psychiatry residency program but confused about all the 'tracks' (Fraser-Greater Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Northern BC, etc). Does each track do their own ranking for CaRMS? If so, I would assume that it would be advisable to do an elective at both Fraser-Greater Vancouver and Vancouver? (I want to be in the Lower Mainland of Vancouver). Can anybody tell me anything about the relative strengths of the Fraser-Greater Vancouver and the Vancouver tracks. I've heard great things about the Fraser program, with a couple of people in year 4 who are doing electives there saying saying the residents at UBC say it's the best training track in the whole UBC psychiatry program. Just wondering if anyone at UBC could offer any insights. Thanks so much everyone!
