AtmosphericWaves
I'm a 3rd year student right now and almost all of my friend's are working in a lab somewhere on campus while I've never worked in a lab except for first year labs. I have to do a senior thesis next year so I wanted to kind of volunteer in a lab this year or at least during the summer so I can have some experiences before starting my senior thesis. The question I have now is how to contact profs; I am not too sure what to say to stand out; at my school there is a very large pre-med program so I'm sure the professors I'm contacting would've been emailed by a bunch of people already. Bede
Email the supervisor and ask for a lab tour. Know the supervisor's research well enough to discuss it. If the supervisor doesn't answer send an email to a post doc and ask for a tour. Tell the post doc you want a position but the supervisor didn't get back to you ask for suggestions how to show your interest. Good luck!
