katakari
I know this is a little early, but I just found out applications for summer electives at NOSM are due soon. As to my current understanding this is one of the only schools that allows preclerkship electives from visiting students? I am interested in rural med although I know this is also offered by my home university (Mac). Is it preferential to complete pre-clerkship electives at my home university as opposed to other locations? Any additional thoughts on electives at NOSM? ralk
I'm afraid I don't know the details very well, but yes, other schools do offer rural pre-clerkship electives in the summer. For example, here's Western's program: http://www.schulich.uwo.ca/swomen/preclerkshiptravelpolicy As for where pre-clerkship electives should be done, it really doesn't matter - go with whatever you think would be the better learning experience.
