Hi

I'm the Student Affairs rep for UofC Med1, and we're putting on a fundraiser where people interested in med school can come and see what UofC med school is really like.

It will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5th 10:00am - 5:30pm, with an evening social to follow. During the day you will be paired up with a 1st year med student who will take you to med school lecture, see a patient presentation, tours of the med school, answer all your questions about admissions, MCATs and interviews, plus senior med students will be giving details about clerkships, residencies, career options, etc.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through SIMS (pre-med club) on main campus, or (hopefully) the Health Sci bookstore. If you'd like more information, or will be unable to buy tix through those places, you can email med_stufflife_stuffday@hotmailstuff.com (take out the 3 "stuff"'s).

Hope to see a lot of you there!

Sounds like fun....

On a similar note, Western Meds 2006 will be hosting a med school info night on Wed. Nov 27 at 6 pm in DS1002. This information night will address applying to med school in general (especially in Ontario - topics like OMSAS, MCAT and GPA) as well as more specific UWO admissions criteria and med student life. There will be lots of opportunity to have your questions addressed both by med 2006 students and by Darla (Goddess of admissions at UWO).

For more info e-mail:

meds_atremove_uwo@hotmailremove.com (omit the two 'remove's when sending mail!)
