Masters In Physical Therapy (Mpt) Vs. Masters Of Science In Physiotherapy

Recommended Posts

Some schools such as UBC, Saskatchewan, Western etc have the MPT program whereas others such as Mac, Toronto etc have the MSc(PT).

You graduate and can write the PCE from each school but any particular differences anybody knows about in regards to the program itself and employment afterwards?

I'm nearly certain the only difference is the title - i.e. what the school decided to call the program. No employer is going to look at your transcript and prefer an MPT over an MSc(PT) or vice versa. Same with a BSc(PT) vs an MSc(PT). They're all entry to practice physio degrees. I wouldn't advise choosing one Canadian program over another due to what they name the degree, because they're all equivalent that way. Choose a program based on how the school's values match your own, the school/program's overall reputation, how they current students like the program, placement opportunities, etc. Don't make this decision based on a degree name.
