coolwhip
So, I'm a PGY-1 and am already thinking of switching programs. I'm in a 5 year program, so I doubt funding will be an issue. Also the program I am thinking of switching into is not competitive and I know there are ample spots available. The problem is that the program I am currently in is fairly small, and I am worried that my release won't be approved due to manhour concerns. Has anyone dealt with this issue in the past? GrouchoMarx
If you use CaRMS to switch, your program cannot keep you.
ubcredfox
Read your contract. Depending on the province you are in there is always a termination clause where you can leave employment with appropriate notice. Usually 2-3 months. This applies if you are leaving provinces and I would assume leaving one residency position for another, even in the same province. Just like any other wage labour job. You don't need to inform anyone that you are entering Carms again, if you choose that route. Other then your references of course.
