AGlamar
I was wondering if students at mcgill med are split into different groups and have to take classes at different places. If this is the case, do you get to choose where you want to go? Are different sites considered better than others? During 3rd and 4th year, do you get to choose where you want to do your rotations? I was reading some of the information on the probation letter and Gatineau Campus kept on coming up. Is it mandatory to do rotations there? sleeping_sickness
the answer is no. only a select few students (maximum 12, i believe) will do their core clerkship (i.e. med 3) in gatineau. Everyone else stays in Montreal. Core rotations are completed at any of the Mcgill University health centre hospitals, mainly - JGH, MGH, SMH, and now the glen site. you will usually get assigned to a site and if you want you can usually switch with a peer. i think you can make requests but those don't hold much weight. jj123
Actually the goal is to have a satellite campus full-time there in the next year or two!
Arztin
We don't have academies like UofT. For now, everyone does preclerk together. Clerkship is different as the other posters said.
