referees

I would like to know if any of you have any suggestions on who would be the best types of referees to ask. I'm thinking of asking a high-school teacher who knows me very well...could you give your opinion on this

There's a number of previous threads on this in the Premed Archives, and I'd invite you to browse through them, as lots of people have contributed their opinions on this before. The Archives are near the bottom of the forums listings.

 

I think using a high school teacher is entirely appropriate if this person knows you very well, and can write you a strong letter. If it helps, I used one of my high school teachers as a reference, although we did quite a bit of work together outside of school as well.
