drmd2015
Hi, I was wondering if any of you had heard of transfer opportunities into surgical programs aka heard of anyone switching out of your program. I'm an R1 in a non-surgical 5-year program in Ontario and hoping to transfer into a surgical program, pretty much anywhere. I need to submit a list of programs that I'm considering, to my own dean's office so I'd really appreciate it if any of you knew of possibly available spots this year. Thanks! W0lfgang
Any surgical program? Even ortho or neurosurg?
chromeboker
My understanding is that transfers are rather circumstantial as there has either a) has to be an opening in any given PGY or your province needs to fill that position desperately and will pay for your spot (ex. a rural ENT)
drmd2015
Any surgical program? Even ortho or neurosurg? hmm my top 4 would probably be cardiac, vasc, gensurg, obsgyne (yes I know it's not classically considered "surgical"). And I'll mention this one just because opportunities come up once in a while despite it being crazy competitive usually. . ENT Thanks
