someoneelse
I’m interested in potentially practicing abroad when I’m done residency (5 year specialty) for a couple of years. I may qualify for an Ancestry visa in the Uk through my grandparents which is why I’m considering the UK as an option. Does anyone know if Canadian licensing is considered equivalent to training in any of those countries (+\- any exams). Does anyone have any experience working abroad? I’d also be open to doing a fellowship or something in one those countries as well if that would be easier to get a post. Any ideas? I still have a couple years to go but it’s something I’ve been thinking about and would be interesting if it is possible.
Edict
It is probably doable, but the number who do that each year would be exceedingly small. You'd best ask around about this, networking is really useful in these situations. Even a linkedin message to a Canadian doc who is now working abroad would go a long way.
