How Does Ubc Convert 4.0 Gpa To Percentage?

I have GPA of 3.79/4.00, and was wondering how does that GPA convert to percentage?

Are you from UBC? If yes, you should be able to find original percentage grade. UBC issues both percentage and letter grades.

I believe the way the grade calculation is done is that they convert each of your letter grades into a percentage, and then calculate your weighted average (which accounts for the number of credits per course). The grade conversion table is here: http://med-fom-ugrad.sites.olt.ubc.ca/files/2012/08/ADM_grade_conversion_tables.pdf.

 

So it depends how your scale maps to letter grades -- for example, if your 3.8 on a 4.0 scale counts as an A, then for an individual course it would convert to an 87% (or 92% if your school doesn't have A+). But the only way to get an accurate number for your whole gpa is to convert each grade individually and then do the calculation.
