alrightlol
Most schools now only allow medical electives for students that are taken for credit from their home school. Are there any that still let you take an elective not for credit? It seems like McGill (for example) doesn't explicitly forbid it on their AFMC page. IMislove
But why though, don’t you want to recharge? No idea but I don’t see why you can’t do observerships if you wanted.
alrightlol
Not downplaying the importance of vacation, but I'm applying to multiple specialties and have a limited number of electives before CaRMS so I'm considering it. For people set on only one specialty, I would agree that it's not necessary.

So I really hope they do not allow it. Especially as people with less electives have to do even more work then. The way that currently exists is you do a different speciality at the school you're interested in but didn't get your desired choice, you try and take call and meet the team around your/their schedule. But I suppose we will see what happens with this first 3rd year cohort dealing with this cap.
