Anesthesia Interview Invites Numbers

UofT and Western seem to interview just about everyone; pretty much everywhere else is more selective, but it's apparently only a more recent thing due to increased applicants. Ten years ago anesthesia wasn't as popular for whatever reason, and one staff I worked with applied after the application deadlines while doing her first anesthesia rotation, asked to be ranked, and matched.

was told ottawa receives usually ~ 100 apps, and interview ~50. For all elective students at Ottawa, they will pull your rotation evals when they process your application. So on electives, should try to work with at least one person on the interview committee. There are 5-6 people on the interview committee, and each of them reads apps from a particular area of the country.
