For Med3/4 students...Q about clerkship and away electives

I was wondering if anyone knows whether UofT's split clerkship phase makes it difficult to schedule away electives, specifically before CARMS interviews. From casual browsing of elective catalogues at a few US centres, most require that all core clerkships be completed before they'll schedule you.

Do the Med and Surg clerkships in 4th year count as "core" and what about the other 4th year rotations?

Thanks.

bump...come on, there has to be someone here who knows what rotations are considered core at Toronto (are the Phase 1 AND 2 med and surg rotations "core"?).

I can't help you directly, but if you post your question at medsoc.med.utoronto.ca/forum/ , under general discussion, your question is more likely to be answered. I know that on EZboard the vast majority of the med students are in 1st year (and our clerkship knowledge is minimal!), while the Medical Society website is frequented more by the second years. I hope this helps.
