Coyfish
Hi, I’m a Canadian looking around at American schools to apply to in case I don’t get into any Canadian schools, and Wayne state seems like the best choice (close to family, friends) and it’s canadian friendly. I’m wondering if I should apply to the early decision program (Or wait and apply to other schools) 3.85 gpa 515 mcat (fairly even) 800 hours volunteering as a medical first responder 200 hours as a mentor for at risk children 175 hours volunteering with people that have spinal injuries 100 hours volunteering at a rehabilitation clinic (speech therapy) No shadowing 450 hours as a volunteer researcher (no publications) Second highest entrance award from school I’m hoping to apply this summer, I feel as if I apply to the early decision program I won’t have to deal with the stress, and the number of applicants to the edp program is really low, so I feel that I would have the best chance of being accepted
rangmang
Need a little more detail about the medical responder experience in this case. Without shadowing you don't have enough clinical unless the medical responder experience is at McMaster or Western. In that case, it'll count as clinical. With that and if you apply early you should have a decent shot there. Although, I'd never only apply to one school.
