ImAndNeuro
Hello, I am a student interested in internal medicine and neurology. I have a limited number weeks of electives before Carms and many are before my Medicine core rotation. I am wondering if it is realistic for me to apply to both neurology and internal medicine and get interviews. I'd like to stay in Ontario and I am truly interested in both so I am reluctant to go "all in" for neurology but I hear this is what is required to get interviews for this field. Suggestions for planning out clerkship electives would be appreciated.
shakeshake
Your best bet is probably going to be 50-50, ensuring you have electives at the programs you most want to match to.
PurpleS
Sounds like you're at Mac. DM me and I can put you in touch with people who parallel planned Neuro/IM and matched to Neuro (with interviews in both).
JohnGrisham
Yep. Both aren't crazy competitive that you can't apply both
