Master's, Then Med

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who is in my situation and might be able to offer feedback.

I've completed my undergraduate degree, and though my ultimate goal is to study medicine, my GPA seems too low to be competitive at the moment. I'm interested in pursuing a Master's in a related field first, and hopefully will become a more competitive candidate this way. Can anyone tell me how graduate work is factored along with one's undergraduate GPA when applying to med school? Is it a 50/50 split to end up with your final GPA?

Thanks!

<pagetext>2 yrs are counted by Western in the GPA calculation

If one of those years it the year in which u apply...how is it calculated as part of the 25%.

At the time of admission...they don't know ur final GPA of the year ur in.

Plus what happens if u already have 2 years that make the cut off but the year u apply u have a higher GPA.

Do they take the 2 already completed years as ur GPA or replace one with the current year

BASICLY...how can they include ur current year GPA has part of the evaluation...when they can't probably get it until after u been admitted.

Edited the title to get rid of the all-caps. Please don't post subject titles in all capital letters; it gets really hard to read. Thx! -Ian
