<title>Acceptances (Not) Out!!!</title>

<pagetext>Psych!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you were fooled by this topic, please own up to it and post below. :)

Okay, okay, I know, I'm evil. Acceptances aren't out and they won't be until at least Friday. Sorry.

Seriously though guys, best of luck with D-Day. I know that I speak for a number of us here at UWO when I say that you guys were truly awesome people and it was exciting to get the chance to meet and hang out with you guys on the interview weekends! We're totally stoked that next year some of you will be roaming the halls of MedSci with us, but not before what promises to be a truly awesome O-Week!

So this is just a good luck wish in advance because I know that come Friday I probably won't be checking this forum, nor will I for a couple of days afterwards. I hope that when I reappear that there is some good news to be spread!!! :)

Best of luck!

Timmy

Yeah, I don't remember pulling this stuff on you guys last year when you were sweating out the last few hours until Judgement day. Just glad you weren't in the class of 2004, messing my mind posting to these boards when I was awaiting judgement day! :P

Hey guys,

Okay, okay, I'm sorry. That was very mean of me and I changed the title of the thread to be a little less mean. You're right, UWOMED2005, I shouldn't have done what I did, but I was in a mischievous mood and caved. Again, I'm sorry for any heart attacks I might have caused.

Okay, on a more serious note, I am 100% POSITIVE THAT ACCEPTANCES HAVE NOT YET GONE OUT. How do I know? I was in the undergrad admissions office this afternoon and spread out on Barbara's desk were the various components of the meds acceptance packages. They even said Meds Class of 2007 on them and everything! Crazy.

And no, there was no master list of people accepted lying around, so don't ask. There weren't any addressed envelopes lying around either. Apparently they guard those sorts of thing with a little more vigour than the other stuff that will come in your acceptance package.

Anyway, did I mention I was sorry from before?

So that's the news. Nothing today. Only 2 more sleeps until the big day! :)

Best of luck!

Timmy

P.S.: When did we get those fandangled new emoticons?

Umm, so, did you see my acceptance. :)

Whoops, I hope it didn't sound like I was being too harsh. . . I meant what I posted half in jest! :) It's not like I've ever posted anything as a joke here. 8o

Hey guys,

Actually, the point of this thread was kind of 2-fold- one for obvious reasons and two to eliminate the temptation some clown might have to pull something like this. I figured that coming from me it might be half-credible and could help out a little with the tension that all the applicants are no doubt going through waiting for the magical day (and their UWO acceptance) to arrive. Plus, it's better than studying HIS.

As for Peter, well, that's what I'm going to look like come Friday after the Repro exam! :P

Seriously, those are pretty cool, and we're all looking forward to your coming down to London sometime very soon. Hopefully by the time you get there, the Slaughterhouse will have it's very own snooker table (albeit an old one, but it's the thought that counts!). :)

Best of luck!

Timmy

Yes, definitely much much better than studying Health, Illness and Society. Thank god they're restructuring the course. Those luck 2007s, having the opportunity to take Society, Health, Illness and Technoculture instead next year!

I guess Mayflower decided to pay for one of those EZboard upgrade fees?

...and Technoculture... please telll me you're kidding? Jointly taught by MIT I suppose, exploring the effects of digital media on the Ideological meaning of disease???

but you've got to admit, it's a heck of an acronym. Two more sleeps til they go out! About five more til you reasonably get them!

Yeah sorry, that was a complete joke. The current HIS (Health, Illness and Society) course is, to put it midly, not the students' favourite course. Some of us think Society, Health, Illness and Technology (or Technoculture. . . my gf is in MIT) would have been a better name. But actually, it's being cancelled/replaced so most of us 2005s/2006s are quite envious of the future 2007s.

Hey UWOMED2005,

Your girlfriend is in MIT? Mine too! :)

Wait a minute, maybe we have the same girlfriend. I'll have to ask her about that.

Well, since we only have a few more days to wait, I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking med school 24 hours a day right now.

So as a distraction, does anyone have any good ideas for songs I can put on a motivational/inspirational CD? I'm running a triathlon in a couple weeks and I need some music to energize me, or just good songs in general. No country though, sorry it's just not my thing.

So far these are some of the songs I'm thinking of:

Bitter Sweet Symphony (Verve Pipe, I think?)

The Middle (Jimmy Eat World)

Walk On (U2)

Near Fantastica (Matthew Good)

Breathe (Prodigy)

That's all I can think of for now. Thanks for any input.

middle denomination, non-sequential, brown paper bag, lots. You know the drill...

Good luck to everyone waiting patiently! We're suffering through exams, so we're procrastinating to share your experience too! :eek :\
