med1234med
Hi! I am just wondering if you are lucky to get into medical school if there are awards and bursaries usually available for students. Is it possible to get a full ride to a canadian medical school? What is the most financial help one could expect from awards and bursaries? Thanks! MDLD
I'm not sure about full rides I have not heard of anyone but might just be who I know. I was lucky to get an award for 5K x 4 = 20 k over the 4 years and then another 4K for my first year. It will help a little with the cost but I will probably keep my eyes open for more awards and such at my school

There is some but very insignificant compared to the sheer cost of tuition and living and travelling for electives/interviews. You can expect about 5-10k depending on schools and your own financial situation, plus maybe 10k from federal/provincial grants if you're eligible. But most people will need an LOC unless their parents can cover for them. It is ok and normal to have some debt from med school and don't let that discourage you from applying!
