feway
I called Western last year but they couldn't really confirm anything. If someone could help me double-check if I'll be eligible to apply, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've taken a few 100/200-level and pass/fail courses in my best 2/3 years, so I'm a bit worried that I've made some sort of a calculation error. The pass/fail courses are because I just sucked, but for the few 100/200-level courses, I had to take them because I changed my major very late (beginning of third year), so there was a decent chunk of prerequisites I had to take. I wonder if adcom will look at this unfavourably? Note: 0.5 credits = 3 credit hours, 1.0 credits = 6 credit hours iirc (I attend UofT). Third year: annual GPA 3.75 XXX200: 1.0 credits (pass/fail—passed) XXX300: 0.5 credits XXX300: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits - XXX200: 0.5 credits XXX300: 0.5 credits XXX300: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits XXX200: 0.5 credits - Total credits earned: 5.0 Pass/fail credits: 1.0 Credits at or above 300-level: 3.0 Credits below 300-level: 2.0 —— Fourth year: annual GPA 4.00 XXX200: blank (yearlong course) XXX300: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits - XXX200: 1.0 credits (awarded credits/mark in the second semester for yearlong courses) XXX300: 0.5 credits (pass/fail—passed) XXX400: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits XXX300: 0.5 credits - Total credits earned: 5.0 Pass/fail credits: 0.5 Credits at or above 300-level: 4.0 Credits below 300-level: 1.0 —— Fifth year: annual GPA ? XXX300: 0.5 credits XXX345: 0.5 credits XXX100: blank (yearlong course) XXX400: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits - XXX400: 0.5 credits XXX100: 1.0 credits (yearlong course) XXX300: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits XXX400: 0.5 credits - Total credits (likely) earned: 5.0 Pass/fail credits: none Credits at or above 300-level: 4.0 Credits below 300-level: 1.0 If you made it through this far, thank you so much for your time! I'm just hoping these three years are all eligible, assuming I do well in my fifth year too. Stay safe, everyone!
rmorelan
I am not seeing any issue with the above. You seem to hit both the credit limits, and the cap on pass/fail credit courses. as long as you are following the rules the systems that generate your GPA (i.e. the computer) won't care what the courses are. Even if they did your explanation is more than fine.

I've always double-checked before committing to the courses in a given semester, but the anxiety in me always wants to check more.
