azgofk
Like the title says, will psych research be preferable on a med app if I'm genuinely interested in it as opposed to biomedical research that I would otherwise be doing to check a box? Thank you in advance!

azgofk
Thanks for your response! I did not know that the type was irrelevant. Good to know. I should have added that research interest for me is not just for getting into med school but also to prepare me for research endeavours while in med school to ultimately be competitive for residency matching. I'm unsure if there are many psych research-like labs in medical school so I'm thinking that pursuing a psych-related research project in undergrad will be plotless and kind of a dead end despite my interest. Also I should add that despite my interest in psychology I'm not too interested in psychiatry
Psych
If it helps, the only research I had on my app was volunteering as a research assistant in a psyc lab. Very similar to you, I am quite interested in psychology but not in psychiatry. Go for it! azgofk
