MD/PhD Acceptance Rate and Interview

Recommended Posts

I had a similar experience of about 8 people interviewing for 4 spots.  4 people were accepted that year.

They seem consistent year by year.

The MD/PhD interview would be similar to a MD interview with questions that ask about yourself (e.g., hobbies), your education, your interest in the field (e.g., why medicine) and also you can expect some acting/role playing and ethical scenarios.  You could also expect to talk about research experiences, specialties of interest, your interest in the program (Why MD/PhD vs. the various other routes - such as MD with CIP - or PhD then a MD), etc.

The interviewers are very friendly and genuinely want to get to know you!  Expect a few people - typically a MD/PhD student, a faculty member, a member of the public and perhaps a program director.

Hope this helps!
