Interview Conflict

Maybe the moderators could help me out on this one...

My Western interview is on the same day as my Queen's interview, which I already confirmed. I emailed Darla a few days ago to see if I might be able to switch the date but I haven't heard back. Do you think I should try to sort this out or should I give them a few more days, given how busy I'm sure they must be right now? I'm just getting nervous because I definitely don't want to have to choose between the two.

Thanks for the advice.

<title>GPA - Best 2 Years</title>

<pagetext>I was at the HBSU Sym., and spoke to the western rep about the selection of best two years for a student applying in their third year. If one of the two previous years was below the min. gpa (3.7), I was informed that the candidate will not be considered for an interview strictly based on the MCATs and the one year of study with a GPA above 3.7, although in that 3rd year you may receive a GPA higher than 3.7.

This contradicts one of the previous posts, where students applying for Western, in their 3rd year with only 1 year above the min gpa, (MCATS above min) are offered an interview and conditional acceptance based on 3rd year marks. I'm just wondering which of the two is consistent for Western?

If one were to apply in this scenario, would their application be on the same level playing field as someone with 2 years above the min, or are that placed at a significant disadvantage b/c of it? Are these the people applicants that receive (if they do at all) interviews last, and offers last? Or are they considered equally on all aspects?

Also, I had the impression from a previous post, that having the minimum GPA and minimum MCATs (as stated for the 2004 application), would guarntee an interview. I'm just wondering if someone could correct me if I'm wrong. If it is the case, where do all ~1700 applications come from? Do people that don't make the minimum GPA still apply? I understand the situation with the MCATs since scores aren't released until October, but do these below minimum MCAT's significantly dominate the applicant pool?

Thanks in advance....
