Bubbles12
Hi everyone, I am looking for some thoughts regarding choosing references for the application. Is it considered preferable to ask a professor from your current graduate studies program for an academic reference? Or is it alright to ask a professor from your undergraduate studies who has provided you with a reference previously? I'm just wondering if with the latter option, it would be questioned why a faculty member from an applicant's current program was not asked. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! TIA. PhillyH
Just go with whoever is the most familiar with your work and abilities. I feel like the best reference letter is one where the referee clearly knows a lot about you and is able to speak to specifics about your personality and accomplishments.
