pedsmsi
Hi there! MSI3 (grad 2024) interested in peds. I am wondering if any current peds residents or peds interested MSI4s have words of wisdom about what electives across the country they would recommend? I know there haven’t been OOP electives in a few years, but if anyone could comment on electives at their home school I would be so grateful! I am interested in tertiary/sub specialty peds, at present top interests include +++hem-onc, +critical care, ++neph or ++cardio. Big things I am hoping for in electives would be extended time with single staff or single staff team (e.g. not working with a new person every day), opportunity to do consults independently and make plans, and team call. Additionally if anyone can comment on the CTU experience at UoA or UoT that would be super helpful! Thank you :’)
dragoncat
Hey! C2023 here from UoA, I don't have much advice around electives but peds CTU at UofA has all the things you're looking for in an elective. Staff are typically on for one or two weeks at a time so it's decent continuity. Let me know if you have more specific questions!
