tahty
I'm starting to think about my ROL and have a few questions. I understand that the CaRMS algorithm favours the applicant and that applicants should always rank in order of their preferences. Is there any data about how many applicants match to their first, second, third, etc. choice? Should we be ranking at least X number of programs (5? 10?)? For those who prioritized location, was there anything specific you considered when ranking?
anonymouspls
Our school got a presentation earlier in the year from CARMS and they showed this type of data. I think something like 60-70% of people match to their top 2? not sure if the data can be found online. either way dont rank places you dont want to go. No Name Brand
This must be the slide you are looking for. Seems like 80+% get their top three program choices but then again CARMS is a black box and the more you rank, the better your chances. tahty and Neurophiliac
robclem21
You should rank every single program you would rather go to than be unmatched. WhiteSoxFan910, Dice and tahty 2
