The options are for direct transfer to a different specialty at the same institution (most likely), applying for an available second round spot in CaRMS, or going through your PGME office with the national transfer program (least likely). innocentius Posted March 24 Report Share Posted March 24 idk how common it is but at least anecdotally, yes. i worked with an IM resident who said he transferred from FM during PGY1, after working with the IM PD during his CTU rotation. also look into going to the states.
