If UBC scores everyone on academic and non academic qualities, and interviews everyone above the median, then shouldn't they know exactly who is to be interviewed as soon as they do these calculations? I mean, if the application deadline was 3 months ago and they have started inviting people to interview, then they must have scored everyone and know who is above/below the median. If this is the case, why can't they let everyone know whether they will be interviewed or not instead of making them guess until May??

To my understanding

They are reading applications still. Only those who have marks clearly above what the predicted median is will receive interviews. The rest of us will have to wait.
