Guest Screedawg
hi there, I am just starting my BSc, returning to school after a very long absence...17 years to be precise. After HS, I received a 2 Year diploma in Computer Information Systems, and have been working ever since. I was educated in BC, spent most of my working life in Calgary, and recently returned to BC. Obviously, I have a number of years of study and personal reflection to go before I can even begin to consider an application into med school. However, assuming that I achieve all the required prereqs, I would like to apply to UBC and UofC, UBC because I am a BC resident, UofC because I have a large support system in Calgary (friends, colleagues, familiarity, etc). A post in another thread suggested that in addition to the 2 best year's GPA, UofC will also weight ALL previous courses, likely bringing down the total GPA below the cutoff for OOP applicants. I know that UBC will not consider anything older than 10 years...does UofC actually factor in GPA from that long ago, considering that a) they are from a completely different field of study, and the courses in question were not university transferrable anyway, at least not during the time period I took them. Any comments would be appreciated...
