Why would I want to go to Alberta?

I'd like to know some pros and cons, with regards to UofA vs UofC, and both cities...etc. as far as residency and maybe practice too, in terms of how it is to live there also.

 

I'm looking into Gas, ENT, rads, ortho and family med in an order that changes every day...

I can tell you that the ENT program in U of A is phenomenal as far as surgical exposure. Those guys are operating a ton, and unlike a lot of other provinces, there's tons of OR time to go around. Faculty there seemed extremely friendly, and all the ENT residents I met there were very happy.

 

Radiology is strong there at U of A too for similar reasons. Lots of new technology, lots of volume.

 

I have a few former med school classmates at the U of C radiology program, and they are extremely happy there as well. They too have lots of good equipment, and lots of volume.
