Can a friend/spouse be a Verifier?

I would never consider them as a referee, but for activities that are done just with friends would a friend/spouse be ok as a verifier?

 

I'm thinking in particular about NOMS's "list of other activities". I have things like tennis and blues that I only participate in very casually so only my friends are aware.

 

What's your take?

Yes, friends, spouses or relatives can be used as verifiers if necessary. It's better to include one of them as a verifier for an activity than not have any verifier at all.
