tweep0
Hi, Any advice on whether to rent/buy in Toronto? And where to rent/buy? Is it better to buy close to the hospitals or further away close to a subway station? Thanks everyone! tweep
EllieGee
You can get really cheap student housing all around near the university: I live on Baldwin and it's blocks from all the hospitals. http://link.library.utoronto.ca/StudentHousing/index.cfm?fuseaction=document&document=16§ion=11 This is UofT's housing link, it's definitely not the only way to find housing though!! The subway system is also great, there are stations right next to all the hospitals. You can normally find a nicer place for cheap if you're willing to look further away. Good luck in your hunt! Thanks everyone! tweep If your residency is going to be on the longish side, buying might not be a bad idea, though costs will probably be lower the further away from the downtown core you go. If you do go further out, I'd personally go somewhere on the Bloor line rather than the Yonge/University line. The neighbourhoods tend to have a bit more character there...
