Kill the Radio: Suggestions for Listening Material

Recommended Posts

Lately I've been listening to Matthew Good's new live album "Live At Massey Hall" - anyone who enjoys his will like it i think!

I'm also a big fan of house music - I make my own mixes too, if anyone is interested in giving them a listen, they can be found on my site.

I'd recommend them for getting people moving at a party, or working out mostly.

Feel free to throw me some mixing suggestions if you're so inclined!

Mother Mother.... out of Vancouver....

Canada is a gold mine for independent rock especially in the 3 major centers.

Hayloft, Burning Pile, and Ghosting are all really good... and for such different reasons.

Some is upbeat and electronic, other are low key with horns in the background. A wonderful myriad of sound.

wow a question in music is always a tough one for me since i'm into a lot of different bands and genres. lemme see, i'm going to base my list on my CURRENT favorites. :)

for a cool catchy tune:

the ting tings! (that's not may name, great dj, shut up and let me go)

if i'm in the mood for a bit of a loud music:

incubus, nirvana, foo fighters. always, always worth it.

i play the piano so if i want to relax while studying or just relax:

acoustic covers of songs (blackbird by carly smithson, love song by sara bareilles, or the ost of the legen of 1900 and i'm a cybord but that's ok [koren])

:D

The Bicycles, another great little band from Toronto

Not a fan of every song of theirs but do listen to "Walk Away" on their player.
