omsas application.

Recommended Posts

On the previous omsas application, they asked if your academic year was interrupted for reasons other than academic failure.

In first and second year, I had surgeries and dropped two courses without academic penalty, and because of illness my gpa during those years suffered.

Assuming the application is the same this year, should I answer yes, that my academic year was interrupted and attach a letter, medical documents etc. explaining my circumstances.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated..thanks

Yes. If your gpa suffered, you should do everything possible to explain to med schools why this was the case. That way, they'll realize why you got the GPA you did and will likely take that into consideration when looking at your application. I would think this would be especially true of schools like Mac where they look at all your grades/years equally. I don't think it would hurt your application.
