English Classes and Med schools in Canada

Hey guys,

I was under the impression that you don't need any English credits if you intend on applying to schools in Ontario. Is this true? Is this same for all of Canada?

 

Also, if you do need English, how many credits do you need exactly? Full year 1.0 credit? Or just half 0.5?

 

And would any literature class count as a "english?" I've taken Women's Studies in my University and that was alllll essays.

 

Please let me know.

 

It's way too cumbersome to look through every single website in Canada.
