hullo...

has anyone taken the bioethics philosophy course (PHL281Y)? could you tell me what it's like? i.e. workload, level of difficulty, if there's a lot of writing to do, if it's worth it...?

thanks

Hey cheese,

I took PHL281Y in my 2nd year at UofT...I personally think it is an excellent course, (especially for those of us considering medicine)...forces you to think CRITICALLY and not PASSIONATELY about ethical issues in medicine such as euthanasia, abortion, rep. technologies etc...in terms of workload, difficulty etc. it is pretty much along the same level as any course at UofT I remember having 1 midterm (10%) 1 case study (15%) 1 major paper (25%) and final exam (40%) class participation (10%) hope this helps!
